The unique design of the Early Warning EZ Release Seatbelt gives caregivers early warning of individuals attempting to rise unassisted from their wheelchair. The sensor buckle is securely held in place by "Velcro®" type hook and loop fastener. To open the seatbelt, the patient must disengage the fastener in front of the sensor buckle. Once the sensor buckle is opened, the alarm is triggered.
Before the patient can rise, they must disengage and additional 12" of fastener. This system provides early alert to the caregiver and gives them time to get to the patient before they rise. To disengage the alarm, simply seat the patient and resecure the seatbelt. The alarm automatically resets.
